Paintings and text by Madeline Rupard

Passages is a collection of meditations on the long slow slide of time, on distances traveled and sudden miraculous closeness. Madeline Rupard is an artist based in Utah. She paints to describe contradictions: the suburban and the sublime, the sacred and the mundane, and the ancient and man-made running up against each other. Art, to her, is a reconciliation between the romantic and the realist.
